Six killed in weekend road crashes

Six people have been killed and five children injured in road accidents across the country this weekend.

Jamie Berry, 27, from Aberdeen, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Riverside Drive in the city at about 5.30am on Saturday, Grampian Police said. Two passengers, a man and a woman, were both injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

William Dawson, 38, from Tillicoultry in Clackmannanshire, died when the white Ford Transit van he was driving crashed shortly after midnight on Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene on the A941 Elgin to Rothes road at the Drumbain lay-by.
