Action urged on homelessness pledge

The Scottish Government has been urged to act to help those councils who risk failing to deliver on a pledge to end homelessness by 2012.

Graeme Brown, director of the housing charity Shelter Scotland, made the plea ahead of the publication of the latest statistics on homelessness.

In 2003 the Scottish Parliament passed landmark legislation stating that everyone who is homeless would have the right to a home by 2012.
