Parade planned to mark Pope's visit

A major parade to mark the Pope's visit next month has been launched by the head of the Catholic church in Scotland.

Cardinal Keith O'Brien said the St Ninian's Day parade will be a "national celebration" when Pope Benedict XVI is in Edinburgh as part of his UK visit.

The Pope will be in the capital on September 16 - St Ninian's Day - where he will meet the Queen at Holyroodhouse.
