Girl savaged in new dog attack

A 10-year-old girl was taken to hospital after she was bitten by a dog in the second attack of its kind this week in Scotland.

A Japanese akita dog bit the face of Toni Clannachan while she was playing in a school friend's garden at a house on Tuesday, it was reported.

The 10-year-old was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, where she remained in a stable condition.
