No traffic officer cuts, force says

Scotland's largest police force said that it had no plans to cut a large proportion of its traffic officers.

Strathclyde Police said changes to its road policing department were being introduced to increase its efficiency but added that jobs would not be cut.

The force is aiming to reduce its workforce by 800 over the next 18 months, including 200 officer posts.
