'Holding zone' for Rangers fans

Rangers fans will be put in a holding zone ahead of their team's Champions League match in Manchester, to prevent a re-run of the riots of two years ago.

All fans will travel down on coaches laid on by the club for the September 14 clash with Manchester United.

The supporters will be driven directly to a holding zone at Wigan Athletic's DW stadium, according to a statement on the Rangers website. Tickets will then be handed out during the coach transfer from the stadium to Old Trafford.
