Tories meet at ex-steel works site

The Tories are to hold a meeting of the party's shadow cabinet on the site of the former Ravenscraig steel works.

But the move came under fire from former First Minister Jack McConnell, the area's MSP, who accused the party of wreaking "destruction" on the area.

The site is now occupied by Motherwell College and, after the meeting, the party's senior figures in Scotland will tour the establishment.
