Asylum seekers to stage protest

Hundreds of asylum seekers are due to gather to burn letters warning them that they could be re-homed at short notice.

The protest outside the UK Borders Agency centre in Govan, Glasgow, follows the decision to remove 600 families from the city council's accommodation.

The action comes after a contract between the agency and the council was cancelled when the two sides failed to agree on the costs of providing housing to the asylum seekers.
