SNP leapfrogs Labour in latest poll

The SNP has overtaken Labour in the race for Holyrood with just over 10 weeks to go until election day, according to an opinion poll for The Times newspaper.

The Nationalists have now moved into the lead as the most popular party by just one percentage point, having trailed Labour by 10 points in a previous poll in November.

The latest Ipsos MORI poll of 1,000 people, carried out between Thursday and Sunday last week, put the SNP ahead with 37% of the constituency vote.
