A second man has appeared in court charged with the culpable homicide of a pedestrian who was hit by a car on Saturday.

Stephen McCann, 20, of Leslie, Fife, was knocked down on High Street in the village at about 3.15am on January 21.

Andrew Russell appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court charged with culpable homicide and attempting to pervert the course of justice. Russell, 24, from Glenrothes, Fife, made no plea and was remanded in custody.

Earlier this week, 25-year-old Alistair Dick was also remanded in custody when he appeared at the court on the same charges.

Fife Constabulary are continuing to appealed for information about the incident.

Detective Inspector Charlie Duncan said: "In particular, I am keen to speak to any local taxi driver who may have collected someone from the Collydean area of Glenrothes around 4am on Saturday morning and taken them to the Promenade area of Leven.

"I would also ask anybody who was driving in the Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes or Leslie areas in the early hours of Saturday to try to recall if they saw a silver Ford Focus, and the direction it was being driven."
