Baby hippo turns pink overnight

SVETIK, the baby hippo, has stunned zoo keepers after turning a rosy shade of pink overnight.

It is thought that Svetik, a four-year-old hippo based at a Russian zoo, may have a genetic condition which has caused the unusual change in colour.

"He looks very pretty but that colour might not help him much when he gets around to breeding. He doesn't look very manly," said one visitor, speaking to the Austrian Times.
