Colombian kids cross mountains on zip line to go to school

CHILDREN from a remote Colombian village journey to school every morning using a zip line to cross a 1200ft drop over a raging river.

The kids, from the small mountain village of Los Pinos, use their own pulleys to make the hazardous trip which can reach speeds of up to 30mph.

Since there is no bridge between the two mountains, villagers must use the zip line everyday in order to gain access the nearest town. Driving there and back takes several hours due to the altitude.

The kids were featured recently on Ripley's Believe it Or Not. Check out the video here.
