WALKERS will have the chance to see some of West Lothian’s most beautiful countryside this weekend.
The ranger service will lead a morning Spring walk through the ancient woodland of Calderwood on Sunday, May 24, at 10.30am.
The trees and wildflowers of this historic wood have burst into life and migrant birds have returned to nest.
Walkers can find out a bit about local history and wildlife as they explore the network of rough tracks that cross this extensive woodland.
The walk will cover around 4km or 2½ miles and will take around two hours.
Participants should meet at Gasworks Brae, Bank Street, Mid Calder. Contact Almondell and Calderwood Country Park, by Broxburn, or tel: 01506 882254.
