St Andrew’s Primary wins praise for use of technology

A LOCAL school has been praised for its innovative use of technology to help learning.

Howden St Andrew’s Primary in Livingston was visited by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) recently, who said the school made good use of Information Communication Technology (ICT).

The school was rated very good in nearly every category, and has a roll of around 350 children, including 40 in the nursery class.

Andrew Miller, executive councilor for education, said: “Her Majesty’s Inspectors only highlight good practice when they feel a school is doing something worthy of special note, so this recognition is something the whole school community can be proud of.

“I’m pleased that the inspectors have noted the ‘very good quality of education provided by the school’, and I’m confident the school will use this report as a springboard.”
