Diamond days for Margaret and Henry
MARGARET and Henry McCombe of West Calder have just celebrated 60 years of marriage.
The couple, who are originally from Glasgow, met at Govanhill Badminton Club in 1948 and married at Elderpark Parish Church in Govan a year later.
Margaret (85), a retired office worker, and Henry, a former public service worker, who is now 90, continued living in the city before moving to Kenya and then returning to Scotland to settle in West Calder in 1973.
They now stay in Stewart Court where they renewed their wedding vows and had a party with friends to mark their anniversary.
The couple were also visited by Lady Lieutenant Isobel Brydie and West Lothian Council provost, Tom Kerr.
