WORK is set to begin to repair vandalism at a bridge in Livingston.
The parapet of New Farm Bridge in Dedridge, which is owned by West Lothian Council, was badly damaged by hooligans recently.
Temporary barriers were erected at the old masonry arch bridge for safety reasons following an emergency inspection.
The local authority says it will carry out permanent repairs costing £7000.
A council spokesman said: “We will be carrying our repair work as a matter or urgency. Repairs to the bridge are expected to take one or two weeks to complete.”
