Livingston Fiddlers and Friends: Present an evening of traditional Scottish music on Saturday, November 8 at the Canon Hoban Hall. Doors open 7pm. The bar opens from 7.15pm and the concert starts at 730pm. Tickets cost: Adults £5, Family £15 and are available from Philip Stuart (07785 525466) or at the door. Proceeds go to the 17th West Lothian Scout Group (Broxburn) and St. Nicholas Primary School (Diocese of Yendi – Ghana) appeal.
Christmas Photos: Why not get family, children or friends photographs taken in time for christmas ? Broxburn Primary School PSA has arranged for a potographer to visit the school on Saturday, November 1, between 9.30am-4.30pm. Enter via the gym hall. There is no need to book, just pop along on the day. Photos are ready to take home the same day.
Broxburn Pre-School Playgroup: Raised £140 at their coffee morning on Saturday, October 11. Thanks to everyone who took part and helped. A special thanks to local shops and businesses who donated raffle prizes.
Councillor’s Surgery: Graeme Morrice will be holding his surgery on Tuesday, October 28, from 6pm in the Strathbrock Partnership Centre. Alex Davidson will hold his surgery on Thursday, October 30, from 6pm in the Strathbrock Partnership Centre.

Bridge 19-40 Canal Society: On Sunday, November 2, Bluebell will be making a two hour trip. Starting at 1pm it will go to the Almond aqueduct and back. The cost of this trip will be £7.50 and pre-booking by phoning Ann on 01506 417685 is advised.

Charity Psychic Night: Ian Oliver has organised another charity psychic night in conjunction with Dedridge Spiritualist Church. Four spiritualist mediums will take the stage to give a public demonstration of clairvoyance on Wednesday, October 29 in Broxburn Bowling Club at 7pm to help Ian raise money for Livingston`s Braid House day care centre. 6th West Lothian (Broxburn and Uphall) Scout Group: Is celebrating their 100th year in scouting next year. They are looking for previous members, anyone who has a connection with the group, or anyone who has information about the early days of scouting in Broxburn to help them celebrate. Broxburn Athletic FC: B. Fleming, c/o the Greentree, won £50 in the Treasure Chest draw and chose the correct key to open the box, claiming the £1200 jackpot too. Next week the jackpot will be £500 with two keys left. The team is at away to Stoneyburn in a league fixture this Saturday. Kick-off 2.30pm. Season tickets are available from committee members.
Broxburn Bowling Club: Bernard Donnelly won the first prize in the weekly treasure chest draw winning £25, but failed to select the correct key to open the box. Next week the jackpot will be £700 with eight keys left to open the box on Saturday night. The weekly tote double numbers were 21 and 31 with no winners. The bingo snowball is £180 on 61 numbers. Thursday’s bingo will start at 7.15pm in the upstairs lounge. Saturday’s bingo starts at 6.45pm downstairs as normal, with vocalist Jennifer M at 9pm. Sunday’s bingo starts at 7pm downstairs in the lounge. Members should note that they may now book the upstairs function suite for their private parties/functions etc. on Wednesdays through to Sundays inclusive. Names are now being taken for the annual presentation of prizes night on Friday, November 7 featuring the duo Proud Mary.
Broxburn Senior Citizen’s Association: Last week's whist results were: 1st lady – D, Hendrie & M. Kennedy, consolation – S. Taylor and 1st gent – J. Mason, consolation – J. Bennett. The whist drive is held on Tuesdays at 1.15pm. The group hosts a variety of activities in the Strathbrock Partnership Centre: Bingo is on Wednesdays 1.30pm; sequence dancing on Thursdays at 1.30pm and carpet bowls on Fridays at 10.30am. All these activities are open to Senior Citizens. A bus runs into the centre and tea and biscuits are available.
Old Town Centre Whist: Last week's whist results were: 1st lady –B. Brodie and 1st gent – J. Mason. The whist drive takes place on Thursdays in the Old Town Centre at 1.30pm behind the Badger's Brook. All are welcome.
Broxburn Family Centre: In Henderson Place, offers a family-friendly café serving a wide-range of breakfast, snacks and lunches, including homemade soup, freshly baked scones and filtered, 'Fair Trade' coffee. The café is open Mondays to Thursdays from 8.45am-1.30pm for anyone to pop in, enjoy and relax. Classes include First Aid, Digital Photography, Coffee and Crafts and a Polish Language Group. All of the centre's adult activities are supported by a pre-school childcare facility to enable parents to participate fully. West Lothian 50+ Network: Offers a free, comprehensive Pre and Post Retirement Course. It will take place on five consecutive Wednesdays starting on Wednesday, October 29 until November 26, in different locations and is available to all who live in West Lothian. Topics covered include managing finances, maintaining physical and psychological health, healthy eating, suggestions towards an active lifestyle and above all how to make the most of the rest of your life. Strathbrock Partnership Centre: Fresh fruit and vegetables are being sold from the Strathbrock Partnership Centre. This project aims to sell good quality, affordable fresh fruit and vegetables to the general public every Thursday from 10am-3pm. West Lothian Dance Academy: Learn all the latest moves and join in the fun every Saturday in the Strathbrock Community Centre from 9am-1pm. Kirkhill Primary School: We had a very successful Health week in school. A team from P5 won the cluster handball competition and Jacqueline Gillies won the Cluster Cross Country Run.
The school is collecting tokens from Morrison’s ‘Lets Grow’ campaign. The school is also collecting for ‘Bags to School’ which requires the donation of clothes, shoes, belts, etc which can then be recycled.
There will be an M&M production of Cinderella on Tuesday, October 28 for all pupils.
