Pie, Pea and Bingo: OES Armadale Chapter have organised a fund raising pie, pea and bingo evening to take place tonight Thursday at 7pm in the Masonic Hall. Tickets £1.50 or pay at the door. All welcome.

Friendship Group: A few seats are available on the coach for the group's outing to Perth on Saturday, November 8 priced £7. If you would like to come along, please telephone Grace on 01501 731022.

History of Armadale Association: The Book "Armadale in Minutes" by Robert Kerr which was launched recently is still on available priced £5 at the Wool Shop, the post office and the Library. This is a must have brilliant wee book.

Hope Bridgecastle Social Club: Bingo for members and friends takes place every Sunday and Monday evening with eyes down at 8.30pm with two snowballs of £200 on offer on both evenings. Quiz Night: A Quiz night in aid of Armadale Parish Church Fund Raising will take place in the Goth lounge on Wednesday, October 29 at 7pm. Admission £1. Beveridges and cakes will be on sale at the quiz. All welcome.

Scouts, Cubs and Beavers: Meet in the Scout Hall, South Street. The Cubs and Beavers meet on Monday evenings with the Beavers meeting from 6-7pm and the cubs between 7-8.30pm. The cubs are for boys and girls aged 8-10 years of age and the beavers are for ages 6-8 years of age. The newly formed Scout group for ages 10-14years of age meet every second Friday and they next meet on Friday, October 24. Baby Clinic: The baby clinics will be as follows: Tuesdays from 10am-noon health visitor and nursery nurse will be in attendance and Fridays from 11am-12.30pm. Please note this will be a weight only clinic with the nursery nurse. The health visitor will not be in attendance at this clinic.

Armadale Bowling Club: J Gibson's number came out in the Treasure Chest last week but the correct key was not picked. This Saturday's prize money will be £700. The presentation dance is on Friday, November 7 with dancing to White Satin. Tickets available from the club

Councillor Surgeries: No surgeries for Councillor Jim Dixon but for any enquiries please call 01506 777019. Councillor Isabel Hutton's regular surgery takes place on Friday, October 24 in Mayfield Community House, Mayfield Drive at 4.30pm and at 5.30pm in Armadale CIS office. Councillor Stuart Borrowman will be in attendance at Armadale CIS on Tuesday,October 28 from 5.30-6.30pm.

Thrift Shop: The Thrift Shop normally held in Armadale Parish Church Hall will be closed on Tuesday, October 28 due to school holidays but from Saturday, October 25 to Friday, October 31 there is a change of venue at Bathgate Charity shop in Jarvey Street, Bathgate from 10am.

Armadale Thistle Football Club: Thistle are at home on Saturday v Sauchie with the kick-off at 2.30pm. Sunday, October 19 lottery numbers were 5, 11, 13, 15. The Committee are urging the public to be vigilant and warns that bogus raffle ticket sellers are going round the housing estates stating they are selling the tickets on behalf of the club. Please check the promoter's name on any tickets as the Committee have advised that they are not going around the housing estates selling raffle tickets.

Armadale Parish Church: The Sunday School, X-treme Team and crèche are held at 11am. The craft group meet on Thursdays from 2-4pm in the small hall. The next fundraising event is a Quiz night in the Goth lounge on Wednesday, October 29 at 7pm. Admission £1.

Christmas Fayre: The Order of the Eastern Star SG Chapter are holding a Christmas Fayre on Saturday, October 25 in the Masonic Hall from 10am-noon, tickets priced £1 or pay at the door.

Armadale Academy: The Eco Committee would be grateful for any "Let It Grow" vouchers. Morrisons are giving these vouchers away with shopping. If you have any, please hand them into the reception at the school. There will be tours of the school led by S6 pupils at all parent's evenings this session. The parent's evenings are Tuesday, November 18 and Tuesday, December 9.

Armadale Family Fun Health Programme: A Fun programme for the family that encourages lifestyle changes to improve our health and for families with children aged p1-p7s. They are invited to join in family fun games and activities, find out more about food and drink and have an opportunity to ask the experts your questions. The programme started on 1st of October and is taking place over the next 8 weeks on Wednesdays 3.30-5pm at Armadale Primary School. Lip Reading Classes: Do you wish to learn to lip read. If you are interested classes take place on Thursday afternoons from 1.30-3.30pm in Armadale Community Centre.

Poppy Appeal: Councillor Isabel Hutton will soon be setting out the Poppy tins etc for the forthcoming Poppy Appeal. Any help with collecting will be most appreciated and Councillor Hutton advises that Poppy Wreaths have been ordered for what will be the 90th Anniversary of the end of the first World War.

Ladies Section: The Armadale Bowling Club Ladies Section intimate that there is a change of date for their Christmas Party which will now take place on Friday, December 12.

Thanks: The families would like to thank everyone who attended the Scott & Barry memorial football match on Sunday. The score was Armadale 2, Livingston 1. Over £1150 was collected for various charities. Special thanks to Ennsie and the boys for manning the gates and raffle and also to Sandy Halliday, for refereeing. Thanks also to everyone for the donations. It is a comfort to know so many people love and miss our boys.
