Ecclesmachan OAP Club: Held every Wednesday from 2-4pm in the Old School Hall. New members always welcome.

Songs Galore: New at Uphall Community Centre on Thursdays from 12.45-1.45pm, a fun and lively singing and music group. Sessions are action packed with songs, games and props too! Stories, parachute games or chasing bubbles. This is a great experience for parents and their little ones to share together and have lots of fun. For more information contact Laura on 07968 500402.

Krafts-Art: Classes for parents and pre-school age children on Mondays from 1-2pm. Come along and have messy fun with your wee one at Uphall Community Education Centre, for more information please contact Denise Doig on 01506 854451.

Uphall South Parish Church: Coffee morning held every Saturday from 10.30am to noon, in the church hall. Everyone welcome to come along and enjoy a cuppa and a chat.

Middletonhall Bowling Club: Bingo for members and friends this Saturday will be held in the lounge. Tote numbers were 11 and 30. There was no winner last week therefore the tote now stands at £300.

Presentation dance will be held on Saturday, November 8 with Queue 2 providing the music. Tickets are £6 per person. The function hall is now available Friday & Saturday night. Please contact the club on 01506 856346 Tuesday–Sunday between 7-11pm for details.

Open Door: Opposite Scotmid. Please come along for a coffee and a chat. Cards, books, DVDs on sale. Open Monday to Saturday 10am-2pm.

The Open Door celebrates its 10th birthday on October 28. Come along between 10am-2pm to enjoy a free coffee and bit of birthday cake! At 7.30pm the Trustees will be holding a Cheese and Wine reception and would love to meet with supporters to chat over the successes of the last ten years. On Sunday, November 2 there will be a service of thanksgiving in Uphall South Church at 7pm.

Middletonhall Nursing Home: Coffee mornings are held every Friday at 11am where everyone is welcome to attend.

Uphall Station Bowling Club: Presentation dance will be held on Friday, October 31 from 7pm to 1am. Dancing to Caribella, with a light buffet served. Tickets cost £6 available from the bar. Toddler Group: Ecclesmachan & Threemiletown mothers and toddlers group meet every Wednesday in the Ecclesmachan Village Hall from 10am-noon. All welcome.

Boy’s Brigade: For P1–P6 starts tonight (Thursday) from 6.45pm. Company section is Friday at 7pm both held in the Strathbrock Church hall and any new members are welcome.

Uphall Station Pipe Band: The band practice every Tuesday and Friday at 7pm in the Institute Hall and all new members are welcome to attend.Š Band is available for community and local events, for further information phone Yvonne on 01506 856893.

Uphall Community Centre: Is holding a community Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 8 from 10am-2pm. Sales tables are available to local organisations, support groups, arts and crafts groups etc. The fee is £10 per table and booking forms are available from Uphall Community Centre, places are allocated on a first come basis. Surgeries: Councillor Alex Davidson next surgery will be held on Thursday, October 30, in Strathbrock Partnership Centre at 6pm.

Councillor Graeme Morrice next surgery will take place at Strathbrock Partnership on Tuesday, October 28 at 6pm.

Councillor Dave King will hold his surgeries in Uphall Station Institute Hall on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month from 5–5.45pm and every third Saturday of every month at 9am.

Youth Club: Come along every Tuesday from 7-9pm in Uphall Community centre for P7–S1. Chill out with friends, arts and crafts, listen to music, play pool, Playstation 2 Nintendo Wii. Memberships available.

ET Scottish Country Dance: Classes take place from 7.30-9.30pm in Ecclesmachan Village Hall and are suitable for 16 years old and upwards. Beginners welcome. For more information contact Agnes Macmichael on 01506 500457.

Wednesday & Friday Drop-In Club: For S2 and upwards from 7-9pm in Uphall Community centre. Come along and chill out with friends, listen to music, play pool, Playstation 2 and Nintendo Wii. New memberships now available.

Souper Lunch: Sunday, October 26 at 12.15pm in the Strathbrock Church hall.ŠThis is in aid of Mission Aviation Fellowship. This organisation flies light aircraft in developing countries so that people in remote areas can receive help they need.ŠThe cost of fuel is hindering their work.

Thrift Shop: The next shop will be Friday, November 7 from 10am–noon in the Strathbrock Church hall.

Traidcraft Taste & Try: Thanks to those who braved the miserable weather and supported this event at the Strathbrock Church Hall. A total of £400 was raised from sales of Traidcraft food and craft goods.

Guild: On November 4 there will be a speaker from “The Bethany Trust” – an invaluable support to many.ŠMeetings are held at 7.15pm in Strathbrock Church Hall.

Extension Opening Celebrations: The South Parish Church is holding the following events to celebrate the opening of their extension: Sunday, October 26, Songs of Praise with Pot Luck Lunch at 11am. Please put the name of your favourite hymn in the envelope at the door; open afternoon and evening, Tuesday, October 28 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Organisations in the church will have stalls so that you can see what goes on in each group. Tea/coffee available.

Come and try a taster Bible Study in the new meeting room at 7.30pm; concert on Wednesday, October 29 at 7.15pm. Enjoy an evening out with the Livingston Fiddlers as well as some home grown talent; Family ceilidh on Friday, October 31 at 7.15pm with full band and refreshments. Entrance to all events free.
