In the first break-in, sometime between 8am and 5pm on Tuesday, the conservatory door of a house in Crathes Gardens, Murieston, was forced open and entry gained to the house.

However, an alarm disturbed the culprits who ran off.

They are described as being about 40 years, one with dark hair, one of whom was carrying a toolbox.

In the second break-in, a house in Murieston Wood was broken into.

The rear kitchen window was forced open and thieves searched the house before escaping with £55 in cash.
