COUNCILLORS have been presented with a petition calling for action to be taken at a local accident blackspot.
Fauldhouse and the Breich Valley councillors Neil Findlay and Cathy Muldoon have vowed to continue campaigning until traffic lights are installed at Stoneyburn crossroads.
Hundreds of local people in Stoneyburn and Bents have signed a petition organised by Archie Stevenson of Meadow Drive, Bents.
Stoneyburn, Fauldhouse and Longridge community councils also back the call for lights.
On accepting the petition Councillor Findlay said: “I know only too well the dangers of this junction. When I was 17 I was involved in a very bad accident at this crossroads.
“For the last five years I have been asking transport officials to make this a priority. I hope that the council will now listen to local people and address this once and for all.”
