Public are urged to have their say on plans to build adventure course

VISITORS to Beecraigs Country Park are being urged to have their say on proposals for an exciting new development.

Walkers, families and residents who use the West Lothian park are being invited to look at plans which have been drawn-up for a high-wire forest adventure course.

Go Ape Forest Adventure is organising information sessions for anyone interested in learning more about the proposal.

The plans involve building a tree-top trail in which participants have to negotiate a series of ladders, walkways, bridges and zip slides wearing a climbing harness.

Staff from Go Ape will be on site at the Beecraigs loch side car park from 10am until 4pm today (Thursday) and Saturday (June 27) to answer any questions.

Go Ape staff will be showing walkers and visitors details of the planned site and answering any questions that may arise.

Go Ape’s managing director, Jerome Mayhew, said: “We are very much looking forward to having the chance to let people know about our plan to build a second course in Scotland,

“We sincerely hope people will be able to come along and meet us at the loch side or at the Sutherland Centre over the duration.

“Our first course, in Aberfoyle, has been enjoyed by thousands of visitors in its first two seasons so we know that people in Scotland share our love of adventure and the outdoors.

“Go Ape! courses not only offer an exciting physical challenge for people, they also help to remind people of the vital role that forests play in preserving the planet.

“That’s why we feel a partnership with Beecraigs Country Park and West Lothian Council, with their links with youth groups and schools, will be very rewarding for all concerned.”
