APPLIANCE OF SCIENCE: pupils from Bathgate’s Simpson Primary School Science and Engineering Club were presented with a cheque for £500 from BP for their ambitious car project.
The pupils hope to raise enough money to build an electric car which can then be raced with other schools around the country before being disassembled and assembled each year.
Ged Allison (pictured), wayleaves specialist with BP, presented the cheque to some of the members of the club.
He also gave a talk to pupils about his work in engineering and science.
The club hopes to start building the car at the start of next session in August.
Any donations towards the car would be much appreciated.
People or firms interested should contact the school direct for details.
