BIG-HEARTED children have made a donation to help their community’s older people enjoy the summer weather.
Pupils from St Columba’s Primary in Boghall, presented the tenants of Norvell Lodge sheltered housing complex with a wrought iron garden table and chairs.
The youngsters from primaries two and three held a sponsored walk to raise the money to buy the furniture.
Their gift is the latest in a line of donations to the school and the school regularly invites the residents of Norvell Lodge to its plays and Christmas carol concerts.
Spokesman for Norvell Lodge’s residents, Peter Forsyth, thanked everyone involved with the fundraising effort.
He said: “The tenants wish to take this opportunity to thank all those who gave so generously to the children to enable them to do this.
“If you could have seen the joy on their small faces as they presented us with the table and chairs you would have felt rewarded.”
