Cats on show at rehoming day

ANIMAL lovers are being invited to a special event to show their support for a leading animal charity.

West Lothian Cats Protection is holding its next rehoming day on Saturday, August 29, in Bathgate.

The event will be held in the Community Hall, Marjoribanks Street, from 10am to 12.30pm and organisers say volunteers are looking forward to a good turnout on the day.

The event will include the usual tombola, raffle and homebaking as well as Cats Protection merchandise, and some of the cats who are in the care of the branch will be there too.

The event will also provide the perfect opportunity for anyone considering rehoming a cat, as they can go along and have any questions or concerns dealt with by the volunteers.

And anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can also learn what is involved in the work.

Also, if you want to help but are not in the position to rehome a cat, the branch are always looking for new fundraising ideas.

As an animal charity the group receives no government funding so rely purely on the generous donations of the public.

There are many ways the public can help either by sponsoring a pet from as little as £4 per month, or by using the link on the branch website where you can buy products from companies who make a donation directly to the West Lothian branch.

The group is also urging people to consider asking for donations to the charity instead of receiving gifts for a birthday or anniversary.

Anyone who would like more information on the group or any of the cats in its care, call 0845 371 2719 or visit the website at www.cats-westlothian.org.uk
