CHARITY bosses have thanked West Lothian people for their support during a major fundraising event.
Around 1500 people across the county took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday, September 25.
Around 126 coffee mornings were held in the area as part of the huge fundraising event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
And charity bosses are hopeful they have hit their fundraising target of £24,000 for the county.
Macmillan’s head of fundraising in West Lothian, Fiona Leitch, said: “The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning was a fantastic success. I would like to thank everyone who took part. “
This is the 19th year of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and Macmillan estimates that two million people around the UK took part, raising £8m.
This include around £880,000 from coffee mornings held across Scotland.
People can still support Macmillan by buying a virtual coffee by texting BEANS to 70123.
The text will cost £3 (plus the standard network rate) and a minimum of £2.19 will go directly to Macmillan.
Fiona added: “It’s still not too late to support Macmillan, so get texting and help us raise even more to help people affected by cancer.”
