Broxburn man fined after caught driving without licence

GETTING caught driving with no licence and insurance landed a Broxburn man with a fine.

Police stopped Robert Nicol on the A7066 in Bathgate on September 17 and background checks revealed the 44-year-old, who has previous convictions for driving while disqualified, had no licence or insurance.

At Livingston Sheriff Court Nicol, whose address was given as Saughbank, Broxburn, pled guilty.

His solicitor, Charlie Morrison, told the court his client had been driving from Broxburn to Blackburn to drop off his son when police stopped him and believed he was in possession of a provisional licence.

Sheriff Daniel Kelly fined Nicol a total of £300 for the offences and ordered that his licence be endorsed.
