TWO West Lothian companies are in the running for a top environmental award.
Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland 2009 awards aim to recognise businesses of all sizes and sectors which use good practice and also make significant financial savings.
The shortlisted West Lothian companies are Central Blasting and Painting and Paterson Arran Ltd, both based in Livingston.
Each shortlisted company has received site visits from the awards’ judges, and the lucky winners will be announced at an awards ceremony hosted by Rob Gibson MSP on November 24 at the Scottish Parliament.
Alan Farquhar, VIBES chair said: “We are now in our tenth successful year of VIBES and every year we are continually impressed with the standard of entries and this year is no exception.
“The West Lothian shortlisted companies have shown commendable commitment to their environmental initiatives and are making financial savings with reduced utility bills and minimised expenditure.”
VIBES recognises and rewards the efforts of Scottish businesses that use environmental improvements to become more efficient and competitive whilst benefiting their bottom-line and their employees and winners are eligible to enter the European Business Environment Awards.
