THE family and friends of tragic Carol Jarvis gathered to pay tribute to her as she was laid to rest on Friday.
The mother-of-four was 47-years-old when she was found dead in her home in Balbardie Crescent in Bathgate on September 16.
Around 100 people who had gathered at the Co-operative Funeral Parlour in Livingston town centre for the thanksgiving service heard she was a “loving mother” and “devoted wife”.
A floral tribute spelling out ‘mum’ in white carnations lay on the coffin alongside three pictures of Carol – including one of her in her wedding dress.
Son Graham, 25, paid a touching tribute to his mother, a former Girl Guide leader, and said her only crime was to love.
Kevin Jarvis, 23, had also written a tribute to his mum which was read out by his younger sister Kimberley, 18.
Her other child – Susan, 26 – was also in attendance at the service.
The mourners sang the hymns ‘All things bright and beautiful’ and ‘Morning has broken’ during the service, conducted by Reverend Jim Liddle.
Carol was finally laid to rest in Boghead Cemetery in Bathgate.
Her 59-year-old husband Harry and co-accused, Rita Heyster, 55, are in custody in connection with Carol’s death last month.
