History of the tattie

THE next meeting of the West Lothian History and Amenity Society will be on Wednesday, November 18 at 7.30pm in St Joseph’s Primary School, Preston Road, Linlithgow.

The speaker will be John Marshall who wil take on the history of the humble tattie.

The audience will hear the history of its development and its social significance from this well respected authority, the “tattie man”. It fed the poor giving them a cheap source of energy enabling them to survive on their meagre wages.

All are welcome to come along to the talk.
