SCOTLAND’S deputy first minister is set to speak to West Lothian business leaders at a special event this month.
Nicola Sturgeon is the main speaker at the annual dinner of the West Lothian branch of the Federation of Small Businesses later this month.
The 39-year-old from Irvine, Ayrshire, is Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing, depute leader of the Scottish National Party and MSP for Glasgow Govan.
Also appearing is Susan Morrison one of Scotland’s leading female stand-up comedians.
The “forty-something” mother of two, who is a regular on national radio, mixes real-life experiences, topical observations, audience interaction and Glasgow-style storytelling.
Susan has business experience as a marketing foot soldier in a telecoms firm and her quick-thinking, fast-talking, no nonsense approach on all manner of subjects, from showbiz trivia to political hot potatoes, has made her into one of Scotland’s leading dinner speakers.
The dinner event is being held at The Hilcroft Hotel, Whitburn, on Friday, November 20 (7pm for 7.30pm).
Geoff Hirst , chairman of the FSB’s West Lothian branch, said: “We have been fortunate to secure one of Scotland’s leading political figures and also one of this country’s top female wits.
“We expect this to be a night full of wit and wisdom and will be delighted to welcome local business people to the dinner.”
