Cathie celebrates her 100th birthday with family gathering

CELEBRATIONS were held in Bathgate to mark a very special birthday

Elizabeth King, also known as Cathie, celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends at her home at Hanover Close.

Cathie emigrated to South Africa in 1935, where she married Arthur King, and stayed there for around 50 years.

However, when Arthur passed away, she returned home to Scotland and moved into the sheltered housing complex in Livery Street where she now lives.

Cathie’s special birthday was marked by a party with her family and friends including her brother Robert, who also lives in Hanover Close and her sister Cissie, from East Whitburn.

And West Lothian provost, Tom Kerr, and local councillor Jim Walker, dropped in to present her with a bouquet of flowers on behalf of the council.
