Vandals attack bus in Armadale

MINDLESS vandals nearly caused a serious accident when they pelted a bus with stones as it drove through a West Lothian town.

Now police and bus company officials have condemned the attack as a major inquiry is launched to find those responsible for the attack.

Passengers on the First Bus No 9 service were left shaken when one of the windows was smashed as the bus drove along South Street, Armadale, last Wednesday (November 18).

The bus was passing Windsor Hall on South Street around 3.15pm when something was thrown at the bus, breaking the window.

The bus had passed a group of young people when the incident occurred and police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.

A police spokesman said “This was a reckless act that could have resulted in somebody being seriously injured.

“We would appeal to anyone who may have seen the incident or has any information to contact police at Armadale or their own local station.”

First Bus officials have added their concern to the incident and also backed pleas for witnesses to come forward.

Information can also be given by contacting the Crimestoppers number on complete confidence and free of 0800 555 111.
