STUDENTS at West Lothian College have taken part in an appeal to help poor families in Eastern Europe.
The Education and Childcare students were involved in this year’s Link Romania Christmas Shoebox Appeal, supported by the Kumon Learning Centre in Livingston.
The appeal encourages anyone in the UK to pack a shoebox with presents to send as a Christmas gift to desperately poor families in Eastern Europe.
The students planned and organised the appeal as part of their Personal Development unit, gathering items from home and from staff and students at the college.
They filled a total of 59 boxes with items suitable for the entire family, including toiletries, baby supplies, cuddly toys and stationery.
The boxes were then wrapped and posted to Romania.
Previous fundraising by the Education and Childcare department, along with donations from staff, students and family members, covered the funds needed for the boxes, posting and packaging.
