A MAN accused of murder after his wife was found under the floorboards of their Bathgate home has been released on bail.
Harry Jarvis (59) was arrested along with Rita Heyster, (55), following the discovery of Carol Jarvis’s body at their house in Balbardie Crescent on September 16.
The mother-of-four was 47-years-old when she was found dead.
Forensic officers swarmed the area after officers made the grisly discovery.
Mrs Jarvis was finally laid to rest in Boghead Cemetery in Bathgate at the end of October.
Her husband and Heyster are charged with her murder as well as attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Jarvis is also charged with fraud and theft while Heyster is also charged with fraud.
At an earlier hearing the pair, both from Bathgate, were remanded in custody following their arrest and have spent three months on remand.
And following a brief appearance in private at Livingston Sheriff Court before Sheriff Grahame Fleming on Friday they were both granted bail.
Crown Office officials said they were unable to reveal where the pair had been bailed to.
A spokesman said: “Rita Heyster and Harry Jarvis appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court in connection with the death of Carol Jarvis.
“They were granted bail with special conditions designed to secure their attendance at trial.
“Investigations continue and a decision will be taken by Crown Counsel once those investigations are completed.”
