Susan Boyle’s brother dreams of making his own name in showbusiness

SUSAN Boyle’s brother is set to follow in his famous sister’s footsteps and make his own name in showbusiness.

Gerry Boyle wants to open his own television studio and a concert arena close to Edinburgh Airport.

His vision is to transform an empty unit in an industrial estate into a major new entertainment complex, where game shows, talent competitions and concerts could all be filmed.

The 55-year-old businessman also plans to launch an internet TV station from the Newbridge base.

He said he was already in talks with TV production companies in the US and said he was hoping to take advantage of the “huge opportunities” which have opened up since his sister found astonishing global fame.

Gerry launched his ‘Instant World’ concept – which involves everything from motor insurance and banking to property development and fashion – earlier this year in the wake of Susan’s success after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent.

Gerry has helped Susan cope with her success and has often become her unofficial spokesman and supported her during her brief period in the Priory Clinic after the Britain’s Got Talent final.
