Police appeal for information after attack in Whitburn

POLICE in Whitburn are calling for help to trace thugs who brutally attacked a teenager in the town last weekend.

The 18-year-old was found lying unconscious in the road outside the Cross Tavern in East Main Street, Whitburn, around 12.30am on Saturday.

He was taken to Wishaw General Hospital for treatment before being transferred to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to a serious head injury.

He remains in a critical but stable condition.

Now police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, and who saw what happened to the man to come forward.

A police spokesperson said: “This young man has suffered serious injuries, and we are asking anyone with any information about what happened to him to come forward.

“We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch urgently.”
