Police appeal for sex assault witnesses

TWO people who may have the key to a serious crime are being sought by police – six months after the attack.

Police are calling for the pair, who may have witnessed a serious sexual assault in July, to come forward.

At 3.30am on Sunday, July 26, a 27-year-old woman was assaulted by a man in a lane that runs parallel with Broxburn Library between West Main Street and Bridge Place.

Two witnesses are known to have passed through the lane at the time – both are adults, one was on a bike, and the other on foot.

A police spokesperson said: “We know these people walked through the lane at the time the attack is alleged to have happened.

“We are keen to talk to them, as they may be able to provide some vital information regarding the incident.”
