Volunteer appeal for Linlithgow sheltered housing complex

VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help older people at a West Lothian sheltered housing complex.

Bield Housing Association are re-launching their social activity initiative for residents of Brae Court, Linlithgow.

The aim is to expand the programme of regular social activities already on offer to tenants, which are bingo and crafts and coffee mornings.

Local manager Rena Kirkton-Vahghan said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone involved. Many of our tenants would love to socialise more and with the support of people in the local community we could really make this possible.”

The project is currently looking for volunteers who have a couple of hours to spare each week or fortnight, enjoy working with older people and who are looking for a rewarding experience.

Enquiries are welcome from people of all ages over 16.

Full training and support will be given and out-of-pocket expenses paid.

Daytime and evening opportunities are available. Anyone interested in finding out more about the Social Activity Project at Brae Court can call Rena Kirkton-Vaughtan on 01506 845 800.
