Brain injury service anniversary
PEOPLE who have suffered a brain injury got together to celebrate the 10th anniversary of a service that has given them invaluable help.
The West Lothian Community Rehabilitation and Brain Injury Service (CRABIS) threw open their doors last week to celebrate the milestone.
Staff had invited locals, patients and their families to a drop-in event at the Ability Centre in Carmondean Centre Road, Livingston, to mark the birthday and celebrate the achievements of the service.
There they could learn more about services and see how far CRABIS have come in the last 10 years.
The service was originally set up as a one-year project in January 2000 and is now firmly established within the West Lothian Community Health and Care Partnership (CHCP).
It provides community-based multi-disciplinary rehabilitation to adults in West Lothian with a physical disability and/or acquired brain injury.
CRABIS manager Janet Foggo said: “We were delighted to see such a good turn out of people who wanted to share our anniversary celebrations despite the bad weather.
“We also like to thank the people who were unable to attend on the day for taking the time to send such kind words of support for the service.”
