A SPECIAL day of fundraising is set to take place in Livingston today (Thursday).
The Centre is set to raise money for its nominated charity, the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS), by supporting Real Radio’s ‘Bring a £1 to Work Day’.
The Centre will be driving fundraising efforts among its retailers and visitors during the station’s main fundraising day in the hope of helping to smash last year’s £110,000 total raised for CHAS by Real Radio Scotland listeners.
Real Radio DJs will also be visiting the shopping centre, speaking to customers and broadcasting live.
Jennifer Bruce, marketing manager at The Centre, said: “’Bring a £1 to Work Day’ is a major fundraising day for CHAS so we are thrilled that we are able to help.
“Our retailers and visitors are always very generous and have already helped us raise a large sum for the charity throughout 2009, so I expect CHAS will be swamped with support on the day.”
Now in the third year of the ‘Bring a £1 to Work Day’ campaign, 2010 promises to be the biggest and best so far, raising more than ever before.
Cash raised will help make a huge difference to the children and families who rely on CHAS services, which cost over £5 million each year to run.
Amy Telford, CHAS Regional Fundraiser, added: “We’re thrilled that The Centre, Livingston, are getting involved with ‘Bring a £1 to WorkDay’.
“A team of CHAS volunteers will be at The Centre, Livingston on the day, hoping to encourage as many visitors as possible to join in the fun.
“’Bring a £1 to Work Day’ need not just be for workplaces. Anyone who would like to donate can do so by contacting Real Radio, their local CHAS fundraising office or by donating online at chas.org.uk.”
