A WOMAN chased her boyfriend down the street with a knife after accusing him of having an affair.
Charlene Henderson had been drinking with her former lover and his friend at her home on June 4 last year when an argument broke out.
Henderson accused him of seeing another woman and struck him on the face. The 23-year-old then left the room and came back with a knife.
Fiscal depute Graham Fraser added: “This led to him and the friend running out of the house.
“They were chased down Hillside Drive with the accused pursuing them with a knife.
“They were able to get away by getting into a car.”
Last week at Livingston Sheriff Court Henderson, whose address was given as Hillside Drive, Blackridge, pled guilty to assault and possession of a knife.
Her solicitor, Urfan Dar, told the court his client was a young woman with multiple issues.
“She does not seem to have had assistance before,” Mr Dar added.
“My intention was to try and persuade you that probation is an appropriate option.”
Sheriff Graeme Warner agreed with this option.
Placing Henderson on probation for 18 months and ordering that she complete 100 hours of community service Sheriff Warner said: “Probation orders are often referred to as a soft option –but they are not and it will be a long and heavy responsibility on you.”
