A HUSBAND who took his frustrations out on his wife’s car after a blazing row has been fined.
Allan Melville caused nearly £1000 worth of damage to the motor after he kicked the driver’s door panel several times shortly after 2pm on May 29 this year.
Livingston Sheriff Court heard the victim had to pay £150 insurance excess to get the vehicle, which had been parked on Stewart Avenue in Linlithgow, repaired.
Last week at the court Melville, whose address was given as Hillcrest, Bo’ness, pled guilty to damaging the vehcile.
Melville’s solicitor, Hazel McGuinness, told the court the couple, who had separated after 11 years of marriage, had argued after her client had discovered his wife had sold his van without his permission.
“He had a fairly successful ceramics business and because of the loss of his vehicle he has lost his business, ” she told the court.
Melville was fined £200 and ordered to pay £150 compensation
