FAR-RIGHT party the Scottish National Front are to contest the two West Lothian seats in the Scottish Parliamentary elections.
The party, who describe themselves as a “white nationalist organisation”, have put up candidates to fight in the newly-created Almond Valley seat as well as Linlithgow.
In a shock move the organisation, which will only have five candidates standing across Scotland, have targeted West Lothian in a bid to win a seat in the Scottish Parliament.
The National Front were the only surprise name on the list of candidates for both seats which was revealed on Tuesday.
Candidates need just one signature of a witness and a deposit of £500 to stand in the Scottish elections.
Activists from the party have already leafleted several towns in West Lothian including Armadale, Bathgate, Whitburn, Dechmont and Linlithgow.
The National Front, which was formed in the 1960s, have never fielded any candidates in the Scottish Parliament elections before and their major political activities took place in the 1970s and 80s.
Their list of policies include halting immigration of all non-whites into Britain, introducing a policy of compulsory repatriation of all those of non-European descent and the deportation of all non-whites who commit crimes after they have served their sentence.
They also back the reintroduction of the death penalty for certain crimes such as paedophilia, murder and terrorist offences as well as birching of perpetrators of violent crime.
The NF would also repeal the laws permitting homosexuality and its promotion as they “do not regard homosexual or lesbian relationships as valid alternatives to normal heterosexual marriage”.
Boghall man Mike Coyle is to stand for the party in Linlithgow.
The married father-of-four, writing on the National Front website, stated: “I am standing for the National Front because I am sick at seeing the direction in which my country is going and I am also sick of the continual lies from the main political parties.
“Due to the destructive policies of these parties the country our children and grandchildren are going to inherit will be a very bleak one indeed.
“One of my priorities if elected will be to ensure suitable accommodation for all British families as this is a basic human right.
“I also believe residents with local connections should always be placed at the top of the waiting lists, no longer should young parents sit in homeless accommodation while non British Nationals receive priority treatment. British housing for British people every time. Britain for the British.”
Neil McIvor, from Whitburn, is the party’s candidate for Almond Valley.
Mr McIvor, who describes himself as a 100 per cent British man flying the Union Flag for the people of Almond Valley, said he would campaign for an end to immigration.
The father-of-two added: “I believe that mass immigration has had an adverse affect on the indigenous white population and we are only just beginning to see the problems this insane policy has caused, which are only going to escalate.
“To stop the rot I am campaigning for an end to immigration, British jobs for British workers, British houses for British people and to look after our pensioners before immigrants.
“I have nothing personal against immigrants and blame our government for the mess this country is in and, besides, I would expect these immigrants to put their own people first before immigrants in their respective countries.”
The elections for the Scottish Parliament will be held on Thursday, May 5.
l The other candidates standing for election in Almond Valley are Angela Constance (SNP), Lawrence Fitzpatrick (Labour), Andrew Robert Hardie (Scottish Conservatives) and Emma Sykes (Liberal Democrats).
The other candidates standing for election in Linlithgow are Christopher David Donnelly (Scottish Conservatives), Fiona Hyslop (SNP), Jennifer Lang (Liberal Democrats) and Mary Mulligan (Labour).
