MSP looks for a local hero

Constance

A LOCAL hero is being sought to represent the people of Almond Valley at the opening of the Scottish Parliament.

The area’s MSP, Angela Constance, is asking her constituents to nominate someone to take part in the Riding Procession on the Royal Mile on Friday, July 1, alongside MSPs, schoolchildren, religious leaders and prominent Scots.

All members of the Scottish Parliament are inviting local heroes from their area to come to Holyrood to take part in the Riding.

The ‘heroes’ are people who deserve to be recognised for the important contribution which they have made to the lives of other people living in Scotland either locally or nationally.

This can be someone who has made a contribution that has been largely unrecognised thus far, such as someone who has given long-term service to a school or community project in Almond Valley.

Nominations for a ‘Local Hero’ from the Almond Valley Constituency must be sent to Angela Constance MSP, Unit 5, Ochil House, Owen Square, Livingston, West Lothian, EH54 6PW by Tuesday, May 31, or by e-mailing angela.constance.msp@scottish.parliament.uk by the same date.
