MUSIC lovers are being promised another week of quality entertainment when Bathgate Music Festival kicks-off in September.

The event, now in its fourth year, offers something for every taste and boasts dozens of events held at the Regal Theatre and in schools, churches and pubs.

This month sees the exciting programme being kicked-off with a search for some of West Lothian’s brightest stars to at perform at the Regal.

Anyone can enter the auditions and judges will select their favourite acts to take to the stage in September for Showcase Regal.

Charles Earley, chair of the Regal Board, said he hoped as many people as possible would try their luck.

He said: “When I was involved in the Voluntary Arts Council we did several showcases over the years which were great at giving new talent the opportunity to perform.

“This is great for their confidence and we saw an amazing range of talent.

“We hope people will take the opportunity during these auditions to impress judges and show us what they can do.”

Auditions are open to all ages, soloists, groups and schools and anyone interested can call in or telephone the Regal for an audition sheet.

Open auditions will take place on Wednesday, June 22 and 29 between 7pm and 9pm. Full rehearsals are on Wednesday, September 7 between 7pm and 10pm and the Showcase takes place on Wednesday, September 14.

The Regal has a fantastic line-up of events including Angela Musk, Youth Action Project Band Night, Ceilidh at lunch, Mini Music Makers and Amy Hawthorne.

The festival runs in partnership of Enterprising Bathgate, The Regal Community Theatre, Visit West Lothian and West Lothian Council Arts Services.
