Supermarket to consult on plans for Armadale Station

ASDA are set to hold a public exhibition to display their store proposals for Armadale Station.

The supermarket giants claim the new 40,000 square foot store will create up to 150 new jobs in the area, as well as additional construction and supplier opportunities.

The public exhibition will be held at the Armadale Community Centre, North Street, on Friday, July 15 from 9am until 6.30pm.

Lisa Rooke, property communications manager for ASDA in Scotland, said: “ASDA is looking forward to exhibiting its proposals for its new store in Armadale, which is part of the exciting new development.

“The exhibition will display the proposed design of the store and seek local people’s views. Public consultation is very important to us and we hope that local residents will take the time to come and learn more about our proposals.”

ASDA’s proposals include a new store with a gross floor area of approximately 40,000 square feet; a petrol filling station; 260 car parking spaces with provision for ‘Parent and Child’ parking and for customers with disabilities; cycle parking spaces to encourage more sustainable forms of transport; and additional recycling facilities for the area.

EWP Investments Ltd gained planning consent for a supermarket, associated car park, a park and ride facility including public transport interchange.
