Gentle giants look for new homes

dogs

TWO gentle giants are appealing for new West Lothian homes.

Rhodesian Ridgebacks, seven-year-old Poppy, and Naz (10) are currently being cared for at Dogs Trust West Calder.

But animal welfare experts say they would make ideal pets for anyone with a soft spot for big dogs.

Both dogs came into the centre together and whilst they enjoy each others company would be happy to live alone.

Poppy is the shy one of the two and Naz acts the caring big brother who always gives her first choice of the comfy spots then may squeeze in beside her.

They are great on their walks but their favourite past time is sunbathing – if there was a sun lounger big enough for both of them they would be on it.

Naz is a gentle old chap who cannot walk very far, whereas Poppy, being a couple of years younger, doesn’t mind going for walks.

Ideally a quiet home with easy access to a garden would be perfect for either of them.

As they are older dogs they would love a quiet home with no younger children.

They love going for trips in the car, are good with bigger dogs and are happy home alone for a few hours.

They are such lovely dogs who will make someone very happy and are much loved by the staff at the centre who really hope they will find that perfect home soon.

Both are fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and comes with insurance and free behavioural advice and will have their vet bills paid for the remainder of their lives.

If you can offer Poppy or Naz or any of the other 60 dogs a home, please contact the centre direct on 01506 873459.

All dogs detailed may have had several homes and their history refers to none specifically.
