INVERALMOND High School pupils will be taking to the catwalk in aid of charity next month.
The school’s Prom Committee have arranged a fashion show where pupils and parents can view the latest dresses and kilts to wear on their special day.
And the committee are hoping there will be a lot of support from the friends of the school as well as the general community for the fundraising event.
The Prom Committee are hoping to raise money for two charities — the Dog’s Trust and the Chill Out Zone drop in centre in Bathgate.
The big event will be held at the school on Tuesday, November 8 starting at 6.30pm.
The event will take the format of a fashion show, with dresses and kilts being modelled by sixth year students and teachers.
Several fashion and health and beauty companies will also have stalls at the show to promote their products.
For having these stalls as part of the event the companies will make a donation towards the charity fund.
There will be an interval where tea, coffee, cakes and waffles will be on sale to raise money for pupils and this will be donated towards the travelling costs of pupils who are going on an educational trip to Peru next year in order to help build schools in the South American country.
Teacher Janet Hiddleston said everyone is looking forward to the event adding: “It really promises to be a great night and you are sure to enjoy it if you come along.
“This is the fourth year we have run the fashion show and it is getting bigger and bigger each year.
“We try to get people involved from all over West Lothian.
“The local companies that have stalls at the show are really good and offer discounts to people on the night.
“There will also be a raffle with some great prizes on offer.
“We want as many people to come along as possible to help raise funds for the two charities the pupils chose.”
The hall sits 350 people and parents, pupils, friends and pupils from other schools are welcome to attend.
Tickets are on sale from the community reception in advance or on the door on the night.
Adults cost £3, children £1.50 or a family of four for £7.
