A FITNESS fanatic is calling on the people of West Lothian to help him set a new world record.
John Laurie, of Burn It Boot Camp, wants to make an official attempt on the world record ‘largest boot camp’.
And he is hoping as many people as possible will join him and his team of instructors as they attempt to write themselves into the record books.
The two hour fitness event, which is free and open to all, is due to be held at Inveralmond High School at 10am on Sunday, November 13.
John told the Courier: “At the moment no record exists but we need a certain number of people to come along for the record to stand.
“If we get enough it will be ratified by Guinness and recorded in their famous book of records
“The session will last two hours but will truly be for anyone of any fitness levels to participate in.
“The exercises will be designed in a way that people are able to push themselves to their own level as we want to make sure that everyone gets to the end.
“A team of professional trainers will also be on hand to make sure everyone completes the exercises safely.
“Only participants over the age of 16 will count in the record attempt, and every participant will receive a certificate.
“We have booked the all-weather pitch at Inveralmond but if the weather is not good then we can use the assembly hall inside.
“Burn It work along side Deans Community High School and Inveralmond in promoting community leisure and we are very keen for this event to send a healthy active message to the West Lothian community.
“Participants can also raise money for their own chosen charity if they wish and get sponsored to take part.”
